CLIMATRANS project, a multidisciplinary research project, financed by the Research Council of Norway, in cooperation with Institute of Transport Economics (TØI) and Meteorological Institute (MET) in Norway and School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi (SPA), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc), Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai (IITB) and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), is an endeavour to responds to these challenges. The findings of this project will be published as a guidebook for assessing policies for climate change adoption and transport sector mitigation in Indian mega cities, with case studies of Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The guidebook emphasises the importance of integrated mitigation and adaptation strategies for the urban transport sector, particularly in a rapidly developing country; the importance of addressing risk and uncertainties in planning for environmental sustainability, its relevance for institutional management. It also highlight the importance of further research in the subject. The conference will cover CLIMATRANS research results to a wide Indian audiance.
