Dialogue about Sustainable and Resilient Economy: The values of knowledge and innovation in a blue bioeconomy future (DIASURE). The SUREAQUA opening Symposium will be an arena for knowledge sharing and network building. Leading scientists from major research institutions, both from the Nordic area and Europe, will attend the symposium, as well as policymakers and industry representatives, and it is foreseen that the event will contribute to strengthening the national network-building within the field. As part of the Forskningsdagene 2017 program, in the first plenary session international and well renown speakers will address the importance of the marine environment from different perspectives. Prof. Michael Depledge (University of Exeter, UK) will explore the value of the marine environment as provider of ecosystem services, food security and human well-being. Dr. Alex Obach (Skretting ARC, N) will describe the sustainability and profitability of the aquaculture feed industry and the future needs. Prof. Sam Dupont (University of Gothenburg, S) will talk on the importance of efficient and appropriated communication and dissemination tools, especially in a complex context involving many stakeholders and private/public actors as the aquatic production.
