The overall aim of the CoPs (Continuous hazardous water Pollutants sensing) project is to mature, pilot, scale-up and commercialise our game-changing water pollutant sensor platform. Our platform is an integrated autonomous electrochemical system for in-situ pesticide and nitrate residue monitoring in groundwater supplies, lakes, rivers and water distribution networks. Our innovative solution rapidly identifies specific contaminants (Nitrate, Glyphosate, Bentazon, Linuron & Chloridizon) and transmit real-time data on contaminant levels and movements in natural water systems before they could reach water infrastructures and the consumer. It saves both time and costs (by at least 40%), it vastly improves data quality and quantity, and it provides a data analysis and hazardous pollutants alert service to monitoring agencies. Cautus GEO AS (CAU) and our consortium partners; Intelligent Pollutant Monitoring ApS (IPM) from Denmark and PalmSens BV (PAL) from The Netherlands have together developed CoPs to TRL7 through the successful Eurostars project (#10621), and we now plan to take the final steps towards TRL9 and full commercialisation with the H2020 Fast Track to Innovation call. The aim of the envisaged project is to move our current prototype technology to full commercialisation onto the global markets. The CoPs technology has a major market potential compared to current state-of-the-art technology. As the envisaged FTI project builds upon a validated prototype technology, the majority of our efforts will be focused on piloting and commercialisation activities.
