The main objective of the Sencell is to provide a convenient, efficient, reliable, painless, accurate and durable continuous glucose measurement solution at a low cost for daily use to diabetics. The unique and advanced technology of Sencell offers a novel technology for the global market. The Sencell glucose monitoring system includes an osmotic pressure sensor, sensor electronics and a mobile medical application (outside reader) to continuously measure glucose in the interstitial fluid The device needs to be further miniaturized to meet the anticipated final size specifications. A second source for both the glucose and the pressure information will be introduced by a cantilever nanoscale 3D printed technology. The sensor (dimensions in the µm scale) will be implemented on the surface of the osmotic chamber with direct access to the interstitial fluid. The overall size of the two cantilevers is about 500 µm in substrate length and 1 mm in substrate width. The cantilevers are about 50×50 µm² (length×width) and feature a thickness of 100 nm to 300 nm. These small dimensions allow easy incorporation of the cantilever array in the existing Sencell implant designs. Additionally, the small dimensions enable a high sensitivity. The membrane-based pressure-transducer is intended to replace the existing pressure measuring system allowing recalibration of perturbations in the osmotic pressure sensor. The proposed use of the nano3DSense?-technology allows for a high degree of pressure transducer miniaturization and enables to easily incorporate even a second pressure transducer allowing to measure changes in external pressure (pressure reference). The strain sensors are directly 3D-printed onto the membrane with the nano3DSense-printing technology. In this way, the transducer membrane can be made of any material, including biocompatible metals. The pressure transducer membrane is equipped with the nano3DSense- strain sensors, which are directly 3D-printed onto the membrane
