INASCON is an annual, four-day conference organized by students, for students, aiming to attract early-career scientists from nanoscience, nanotechnology and nanomaterials-related degrees or disciplines. The first INASCON conference was held in Silkeborg, Denmark in 2007 and since then has been held annually in a number of European countries. In 2018, INASCON will take place August 7-10, at NTNU, Trondheim. INASCON 2018 aims to achieve three main goals: • Convey knowledge and create interests for the technologies of tomorrow. • Encourage those with innovative ideas who venture to make modern technology a pillar for a sustainable future. • Create networks between research groups, students and industry to promote national and international cooperation. The program will include scientific presentations by international and national invited speakers as well as master students and PhD candidates. The following speakers have been confirmed by now: • Nobel prize winner Kurt Wütrich, ETH Zürich • Peter Bøggild, DTU • Ursula Gibson, NTNU • Sofie Snipstad, NTNU • Nils Wagner, SINTEF The program will also include various workshops and a poster session, in addition to some popular scientific performances. A main purpose of the meeting is to facilitate networking. Thus, social events including informal gatherings and a gala dinner at Studentersamfundet will be an important part of the meeting.
