Closed Loop Supply Chain Workshop

Tildelt: kr 39 999

September 2018 BI Norwegian Business School hosts a workshop on ‘Closed-Loop Supply Chains’ (CLSC). The CLSC workshop is an annual meeting for academics in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research and Management, that take a special interest to issues of circular economy, sustainability and closed loop supply Chain management. The origin to this workshop runs back to mid 90ies, with the first on reuse and recycling being held in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Continuing and extending the work of a European research group, ‘REVerse LOGistics and its Effects on Industry’ (REVLOG), the network now comprises top researchers from leading international universities interested in sharing ideas and conducting practice driven scientific research. The group is a force in driving research, policy and practice. Multiple books and papers are the result of this long-lasting cooperation, and participants frequently advice the EU and their respective countries on Circular Economy and Sustainability Issues. A 2-day workshop constituting presentations, panel discussions and group work by high level practitioners and academics, the attendance counts approximately 55-65 people every year. The workshop travels between different universities in Europe and USA, every second year. Hosted for the first time in Norway, we have put together a program that demonstrates how Norway, in many areas, has been implementing cutting edge policies, technologies and incentives in the circular economy. The program is also put together based on research areas of the organizing committee; - Bente Flygansvær - waste management, distribution, sustainability, supply chain management, closed loop; - Marianne Jahre - sustainability, closed loop, supply chain management, project based industries; - Eirill Bø – transport, waste management, supply chain management.
