International workshop on Application of advanced plant information systems for nuclear decommissioning and life-cycle management

Tildelt: kr 99 999

Based on feedback from the participants of our first event focusing on digitalisation for nuclear decommissioning (www.ife.no/hrpdecom2017), we are organising this event www.ife.no/digidecom2018. (see also: www.ife.no/digidecom2019). The first event, organised in 2017 by the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) on behalf of the OECD Halden Reactor Project (OECD-HRP) in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) brought together more than 100 people (operators, regulators, scientists, consultants, and contractors) from 25 countries. The current event will be the second international event hosted by IFE within the series of events dedicated to "Digitalisation for nuclear decommissioning" (DigiDecom). This, and following events within the DigiDecom series will be organized in the frame of the Collaborating Centre agreement between the applicant and the IAEA that is foreseen to be officially inaugurated in September 2018, before the DigiDecom 2018 event. The collaborating centre agreement mentioned above is being developed with two aims in focus: 1. Enhance the decommissioning activities related to the upcoming decommissioning of the legacy nuclear facilities in Norway, by establishing an international centre of excellence for nuclear decommissioning in Halden. 2. Facilitate IFE’s and Norwegian participation and visibility in the international research and development related to digital transformation of nuclear decommissioning. Accordingly, the aim of the conference is contributing to reaching the above mentioned overall objectives.
