20TH ANNUAL WORKSHOP ON METAHEURISTIC in Oslo

The Optimization Group, at the Department of Mathematics and Cybernetics in SINTEF Digital, has been selected to host the 20th EU/ME annual meeting. EU/ME is the largest working group on metaheuristics (i.e., a range of algorithmic techniques widely used to solve optimization problems) in the research community. Its purpose is to provide a platform for collaboration among researchers and practitioners interested in the application of these techniques. The group unites more than a thousand members and is actively supported by EURO, the Association of European Operational Research Societies. Each year, EU/ME promotes a workshop in order to discuss the latest progress in the field of metaheuristics. It is offered free of charge, so it is more accessible for practitioners and students that are interested in these techniques. The latest editions of this workshop have taken place in Antwerp, Belgium (2016), Rome, Italy (2017) and Geneva, Switzerland (2018), and have received around 35 participants, on average. The meeting will consist of two days:15th – 16th May. The international plenary speaker and his topic is already confirmed: Rafael Martí having a talk on Heuristics in Graph Drawing.
