Equalising opportunities in football through mass market EPTS solution with AI-assisted analysis

Tildelt: kr 99 999

The iBall project will be focused on upgrading, piloting and commercialising our Next11 system – the worlds first cost-effective real-time tracking analytical system for football, suitable for professional, semi-professional and amateur football teams of both sexes, and adaptable to individual football training and to other ball sports. Next11 combines ground-breaking sensors, Bluetooth connectivity and AI, bringing major economic, health and social impacts geared to achieving EU sport policy. European football teams will save EUR 136m by 2025 in performance tracking costs. Early injury alerts will avoid up to 14,150 injuries in EU and EUR 290m in medical costs, based on an average injury cost of EUR 118 at amateur level. iBall can unlock EU-wide public savings of up to EUR 3.68m by 2025. The iBall project unites a strong complemental Consortium. The coordinating organisation is Viking AS (NO), owner of the commercial rights of Viking FK (NO). Viking AS will provide the facilities and manage the overall piloting experience, together with Viking FK, who will provide the professional coaches and teams for the piloting activities of this Next11 FTI project. N11-Tech (DK) owns the Next11 IPR, together with Fraunhofer, and has overseen the development to TRL7. N11-Tech will also undertake the market entry and international commercial scaling. Fraunhofer (DE) is EUs largest application-oriented research organization, that has been working on complex and innovative solutions in multidisciplinary fields since 1949, and will be helping with the optimisation, integration and manufacturing of Next11. The aim of the envisaged project is to move our current prototype technology to full commercialisation onto the global markets. As the envisaged FTI project builds upon a validated prototype, the majority of our efforts will be focused on integration, piloting and commercialisation activities.
