This is a demo project. We will investigate 3 different technologies for depolymerisation of lignosulfonates from wood in water; 1. hydrogenation depolymerisation in water in flow reactors with Ni/C catalysts 2. oxidative sub critical aquous depolymersiation of lignosulfonates 3. electrochemical aquous depolymersiation of lignosufonates Final applications for the products either directly or after substantial separation, purification and sometimes further chemical modification is within epoxy plastics, building adhesives, flame retarders, performance chemicals, bioactive compounds, bio-foams for insulation etc. All in all 12 partners wherof 4 Norwegian partners invited by Borregaard (Jackon, UiO, SINTEF), 3 Universities, 1 consultant (Iconic Innovation, UK) and leading industries from Europe.
