The Xynteo Exchange / Norway 2019 Conference workshop: Digitalization-Ocean

The three main organizers of this Conference workshop, DNVGL, Microsoft, and Xynteo, will offer a high-quality, timely forum to explore the most important challenges for the oceans, specifically how enhanced use of digital tools and data-sharing can play critical roles aid in tackling these challenges. The focal R&D themes will be around: - accessing and sharing ocean data - metrics for measuring the ‘ocean economy’, - sustainable marine food production - and efficiency in maritime supply chains. Diverse participants from across industries, innovators, academics, students, policy-makers, artists, creatives and community representatives will join forces in this conference workshop to generate fresh insights, seek opportunities to shape the future of work, and help set an agenda for the years ahead. On day one, we will interrogate the complex nature of the pre-defined problem areas and explore the specific needs of all stakeholders. On day two, keen stakeholder insights will be the basis for identifying potential solutions within these problem areas, with the aim of developing pilot projects that can deliver both human and commercial value in the rapidly changing world of work. Finally, we will select the most promising concepts to take these to the Conference Exhibition and share with the wider group of some 500 Exchange participants. We plan for a maximum of 100 participants in the two-day Conference workshop.
