Horizon Europe Norwegian Urban Partnership

I det norske partnerskapet for smarte samfunn i Horisont Europa (HEU NUP), bygger Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU), Universitetet i Stavanger (UiS), Nordic Edge og Smartbyene et langsiktig, tverregionalt, multi-aktor økosystem for å påvirke utviklingen og implementeringen av byrelaterte utfordringer i Horisont Europa. Med utgangspunkt i erfaringene fra de 2 norske smartby-fyrtårnprosjekt i Horisont 2020, Triangulum og + CityxChange, og tilsvarende nasjonale / regionale initiativ, vil HEU NUP vise frem norsk erfaring og kompetanse innenfor samskaping (kjerneprosessen som HEU er bygget på) og åpen urban innovasjon, som sentrale drivere mot et klimanøytralt Europa. HEU NUP har som mål å organisere - et årlig seminar for beslutningstagere i EU-kommisjonen og øvrige europeiske partnere, i Brussel, basert på norske erfaringer; - en årlig samling med European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities under Nordic Edge Expo i Stavanger, med europeiske eksperter og beslutningstakere; - deltakelse i EU sitt rådgivende organ for bymisjonen i Horisont Europa, partnerskap og andre strategiske HEU-dokumenter, og formidling til og fra HEU byrelaterte arrangementer; - månedlige styringsgruppemøter på nett, med hovedrepresentanter fra NTNU, UiS, Nordic Edge og Smartbyene, samt de nasjonale kontaktpunktene for offentlig sektor og urbane Europa i Norges forskningsråd; - månedlige nyhetsbrev til norske interessenter, og bidrag til Forskningsrådets nyhetsbrev; NTNU, UiS, Nordic Edge og Smartbyene er spesielt godt posisjonert for å lede denne innsatsen, som medlem i det europeiske rådgivende organ for bymisjonen i Horisont Europa; ledere og aktive deltagere i flere byrelaterte europeiske nettverk; med utbredt erfaring som prosjekt- og bykoordinatorer for europeiske Horisont 2020-prosjekter; og en direkte tilstedeværelse i Brussel gjennom våre europeiske kontorer.

In the Horizon Europe Norwegian Urban Partnership (HEU NUP), the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the University of Stavanger (UiS), Nordic Edge and Smartbyene will build a long-term, cross-regional, quadruple helix ecosystem to influence the development and implementation of urban-related challenges in Horizon Europe. Building on the experiences from H2020 smart city lighthouse projects Triangulum and +CityxChange, and corresponding national/regional initiatives, HEU NUP will showcase Norwegian experience and competency in co-creation (the core process on which HEU is built) and open urban innovation, as key drivers towards a climate-neutral Europe. HEU NUP aims to organise - an annual high-impact seminar in Brussels, with policy briefs and white papers; - an annual cooperation session with the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities during Nordic Edge Expo in Stavanger, with a broader set of European experts and decision makers; - participation in Mission Assembly meetings, managing Norwegian input to Mission Board, partnership and other strategic HEU documents, and disseminating to and from HEU urban-related events; - monthly online steering group meetings, with the main representatives of NTNU, UiS, Nordic Edge and Smartbyene, as well as the National Contact Points for public sector and Urban Europe; - monthly newsletters towards Norwegian stakeholders, and contributions to Research Council Norway newsletters; NTNU, UiS, Nordic Edge and Smartbyene are particularly well-positioned to lead this effort, as member of the Mission Assembly on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities as well as cooperation with other Assembly and Mission Board members; leading and participation roles in the main city-related European networks; experience as Project and City Coordinators of European Horizon 2020 projects; and a direct presence in Brussels through our European offices.
