OneHAND - A smart, modular and user-centric prosthetic hand with improved function and usability

Building from the strong drivers of key end-user needs currently unmet by the competing products in the market, the central goal of oneHand project is to accelerate the market introduction of a disruptive user centred approach to prosthesis use - oneHAND solution. The oneHAND solution consists of a hand-prosthesis-as-a-service aiming at maximizing user comfort, optimize price-point and improve overall experience to minimize prosthesis abandon altogether. Hy5 aims to conduct close-to-market activities related to Hy5s new solution namely the maturation of oneHANDs smart prosthesis, its modularization and preparation for industrial upscaling, the development of a training platform, as well as the development of a comprehensive and value chain-wide network to support an improved user experience and preparation of the market roll-out and commercialization stages. To accomplish the oneHAND objectives, Hy5 has steed up the partnership with key players to i) complete the prothesis refinement, ii) improve the training and user experience, iii) enable the demonstration with users and iv) establish the business and delivery models. In addition, the project will establish a strong partnering strategy for the commercialisation phase, since the consortium has all the necessary skills, personnel, facilities and access to market to accomplish the commercial launch of the oneHAND within 3 years post project initiation.
