WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO? The partners will develop, validate and bring to the global market an easy-to-use, rapid, whole blood Point-of-Care system for near-patient testing, but with central laboratory quality. The system is based on innovative, patented SpectroFlow technology. This technology allows high accuracy by correcting for hematocrit, for a variety of whole blood diagnostic tests, including cardiac, inflammation, and iron status markers. A simple camera, eg from a mobile phone, is used to measure the results. WHY DO YOU WANT TO DO IT? There is an urgent need on the market for Point-of-Care tests that give accurate, trustworthy results. The market is lucrative and growing, mainly due to the ongoing shift to home care, rising health care expenses and the aging of the population. In addition to providing growth, high revenue and profit to the company, our new POC system will also increase demand for Gentians equivalent laboratory-based tests (current products) and solidify our position on the world immunoassay market.
