Podbike

Podbike AS has developed a state of the art electrical assisted velomobile (el-assisted velomobile) which aims to transform personal transport in urban areas. Podbike AS ambitious aim is to provide a new and viable healthy, eco-friendly alternative that has advantages of a small electric car but avoids the road congestion problems electric cars still provide. Compared to regular e-bikes, Podbike provides attractive and safe cycling in all kind of weather including snow and ice. It will contribute to solving societal challenges such as pollution, road congestion and lack of exercise. Podbike AS will lead the project which will focus on the market launch and commercialization of their first el-assisted velomobile. The main barriers for Podbike AS going forward are related to market awareness, acceptance to end-users, production scale-up and securing commercialization partners. This project will enable: 1) maturing and refining the Podbike pre-series product; 2) exploring further technological development; 3) conducting pilot demonstrations of the pre-series product in relevant markets; 4) built a mechanism to gather data from existing Podbike AS users to further enhance their product. The EIC Accelerator program provides an unique opportunity for Podbike AS to showcase the potential of its technology and gain market intelligence that will ultimately lead to acceptance by end-users. The completion of the project objectives is important for ensuring a successful entrance to the market and commercialization of their innovative mobility solution.
