Conflict Patterns Research Group [Forskergruppe for konfliktsmønstre] (CPRG) ved Institutt for fredsforskning (PRIO), som ledes av Forsker I Gudrun Østby, er et verdensledende forskningsmiljø som bruker avanserte og innovative kvantitative metoder til å forske på bevæpnede konflikters umiddelbare og langtidskonsekvenser. Dette prosjektet skal bidra til forskergruppens utvikling ved å støtte organisering av og deltagelse i nettverkaktiviteter og internasjonale PhD-kurs. Prosjektet skal finansiere organisering av og deltagelse i arrangementer og konferanser, og utviklingen av forskningsprosjektsøknader rettet mot internasjonale finansiører. Disse aktivitetene vil bidra til utviklingen av nye forskningsprogrammer i CRPG. I tillegg vil de bidra til å dyrke og vedlikeholde viktige nettverk innen og utenfor forskersamfunnet, og støtte fremtidige samarbeid, rekruttering og impact. Prosjektet skal også finansiere regelmessige PhD-kurs om temaer basert på forskergruppens metodologiske og tematiske kjernekompetanser. Kursene undervises av forskergruppens medlemmer. Kursene er en del av Forskerskolen i fred og konflikt. Kursene er intensive, femdagers workshop-er med aktiv deltagelse fra studentene og er åpne til PhD-studenter fra hele kloden. CPRGs bidrag til Forskerskolen er en viktig investering i konfliktforskningens fremtid.

The Conflict Patterns Research Group (CPRG) at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), led by Research Professor Gudrun Østby, is a world-leading research environment studying the immediate and long-term consequences of armed conflict using advanced and innovative quantitative methods. The present project aims to promote the further development of the CPRG by providing support for the group to organise and participate in network-related activities and run international PhD courses. The project will provide support for organising and participating in workshops and conferences, and for the development of research proposals aimed at international funders. These activities will contribute to the development of new research programmes in the CPRG. They will also contribute to the cultivation and maintenance of key networks within and outside the research community, supporting future collaboration, recruitment and impact. The project will also provide support for regular PhD courses on topics based on the core methodological and thematic competencies of the CPRG, taught by members of the research group. The courses are part of the Research School on Peace and Conflict. The courses are intensive, five-day workshops with active student participation, open to PhD students from anywhere in the world. The CPRG's contribution to the Research School is an important investment in the future of the field of conflict studies.
