All weather access system from vessel to fixed or floating offshore structure

Tildelt: kr 99 999

The overall objective of the All Weather Access System (AWAS) project is to prototype, pilot and commercialise a new ship mounted tower and motion-controlled gangway (walkway) to enable the safe and rapid transfer of personnel and goods from offshore support vessels (OSVs) to offshore structures such as wind turbines (OWTs) to enable maintainance and support activities. Our concept is the only solution that contains an elevator tp provide access from below deck to any gangway position, so that personnel and goods can be lifted up at any time. AWAS will be the first and only solution that can be used to transfer personnel to OWTs (or other vessels) irrespective of the prevailing wind speed and direction and wave height (up to 5m) and direction. The AWAS project unites a strong complemental consortium. UHS will take the role as project coordinator and wil be involved in all work packages. UHS has been operating in the €149 billion global marine services market supplying equipment for the offshore sector (Oil & Gas and Wind Energy) since 2013. We develop modern handling and logistics solutions; launch and recovery systems (LARS) for remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), ship gangways, IMR-towers (Inspection, Maintenance, Repair), skid and cursor systems for launch and recovery over the shipside and through the moon pool, from built-in hangars and from open deck. We have teamed up with HG Solutions Sp.zo.o (HGS) from Poland that designs and produces, new maritime installations, switchboard production, testing, and repairs/rebuilding of existing vessels. HGS are ISO 9001:2015 and 18001:2007 certified by DNV-GL and have strong links to the maritime sector in Northern Europe. The consortium brings together all necessary expertise, covering the whole value chain to improve, validate and commercialise AWAS on the international stage.
