AEDUST: Accelerated and Enhanced Drug Uptake for Solid Tumours

iNANOD is currently developing a platform technology that will facilitate and improve drug delivery into solid tumours of diagnosed cancer patients. Our platform takes upon existing promising solutions that are currently used separately, and therefore lack the full potential therapeutic effect that our solution will have. This platform is based on nanostructures of lipid coated platinum drugs surrounded with tumour-specific antibodies and surface decorated with special compounds. We believe that the combination of these approaches will improve patient treatment by accelerating and enhancing drug delivery into solid tumours, while shortening the chemotherapy sessions, abolishing the involved trauma. Our main barriers are related with the process of developing a new therapeutic approach. This project will enable us to: 1) fully characterize the physical and biological properties of our solution; 2) obtain safety and efficacy data from in vitro/vivo experiments; 3) obtain pre-clinical data from animal models of disease. The Eurostars program will provide the necessary financial input to develop and validate our innovative cancer treatment, which has a huge potential to positively disrupt current treatment methods. The completion of the project objectives is essential to ensure a successful developmental process of our solution, obtaining the necessary requisites for clinical trials.
