STORING-CO2

STORING-CO2 will identify and provide a geological characterisation of new prospective storage sites for CO2. The sites are in different areas in Europe based on the availability of the sites and input from CO2-intensive industry for potential economic CO2-storage. New analysis of cores, well-logs and seismic will provide the basis for the geological characterisation together with wells and well logs to be drilled and measured during the project. A monitoring strategy will be developed based on new downhole and surface measurements of seismicity using novel methods and CO2 detection at the surface. Together with the industry partners and stakeholders, detailed plans for the sites and an economic analysis will be developed. Public acceptance is important for CO2 storage projects and this will also be addressed in combination with the monitoring strategy.
