ROAM IoT - European IoT roaming and innovation ecosystems

Tildelt: kr 99 999

LoRaWAN is an unlicensed low frequency wireless network typically connecting IoT (Internet of Things) censors in order to introduce and expand services for public and commercial use. Lyse/Altibox, StadshubbsAlliansen and Digita propose a 2 year project to value-add existing LoRaWAN roaming solutions by adding a business framework and business model incentivizing existing companies and startups in the Nordics. The project will in large be financed by the European Commission through their FTI (Fast Track to Innovation) program under Horizon 2020. In order to achieve that, the 2 Norwegian partners in lead put together this PES proposal to cover a portion of the expences in the proposal process. The three Nordic national LoRaWAN operators Altibox (Norway), StadshubbsAlliansen (Sweden) and Digita (Finland) have joined forces with the purpose of achieving cross-border IoT roaming, not only at a technical level but also at the business level. We will also explore how to help IoT startups scale and incentivize them to become part of our service provider ecosystems. The French technology provider Actility is joining the FTI consortium. Altibox' parent company Lyse through its R&D&I dept, is in charge of the PES application. More details are available in the attached Project description.
