EuroHPC-prosjekt EUROCC, National Competence Centres in the framework of EuroHPC

Målet med EuroCC prosjektet er etablering og drift av nasjonale kompetansesentre (NCC) for høy-ytelses databeregninger (HPC), i EuroHPC JU deltagerstater. NCCene skal koble seg til et nettverk av knutepunkter for å gi tilgang til ledende HPC-teknologi og kunnskap, tilpasset interessentens spesifikke behov og i tråd med hvert enkelt lands nåværende modenhetsnivå i HPC. Vurderingen av modenhetsnivåene, og prioriteringen av kravene til alle interessenter (akademia, offentlig administrasjon og industri) er de viktigste driverne for oppsettet av NCC. Sentralt mål for de etablerte NCCene, er å representere nasjonale kontaktpunkter som gir HPC-relatert støtte innen opplæring, teknisk ekspertise, tilgang til HPC-ressurser, konsulenttjenester og koordinering på nasjonalt nivå og i forbindelse med europeiske initiativer. Prosjektoppsummering De nasjonale kompetansesentre skal bidra med kompetanse og koordineringstjenester. Opprettelse av et rammeverk for å drive et nasjonalt kompetansesenter, inkludert implementering av en styringsstruktur. Identifisering og koordinering av nødvendige tjenester for å oppfylle kravene til interessentene, også på europeisk nivå i samarbeid med andre kompetansesentre. Identifisering og koordinering av tilgjengelige kompetanser i den respektive nasjonen innen HPC, HPDA og AI. Opprettelse av et rammeverk (konsepter, mekanismer, gap-identifikasjon) for opplæring av brukere i de forskjellige teknologiene og tilpasningen over hele Europa. Etablering av et rammeverk for samhandling og skreddersydd støtte til den nasjonale industrien, inkludert SMB (konsepter, mekanismer, gap-identifikasjon), offentlig sektor og akademia. Integrering av eksisterende kompetanse, ekspertise, verktøy og tilbud i det nasjonale kompetansesenterets serviceportefølje Bevisstgjøring og disseminering av fordelene med HPC for potensielle brukerindustrier, inkludert små og mellomstore bedrifter. Utfall og virkninger Bidrag til realisering av EuroHPCs overordnede og spesifikke mål. Fremme bruk av HPC på nasjonalt nivå ved å identifisere relevante brukere, og matche deres behov med tilgjengelig kompetanse i HPC kompetansesentre. Effektiv etablering av et bredt spekter av HPC -tjenester. Levering av ledende, innovative løsninger for målrettede regionale og nasjonale næringer og applikasjoner. Støtte til interesserte sluttbrukere som bruker/vil bruke HPC og HPDA i sin daglige virksomhet.

Contribution towards the realisation of the EuroHPC objectives through collaboration with other national competence centres, training, dissemination, knowledge transfer, as well as direct projects with industry. - Contribution to the European collaboration and growth by use and adoption of digital technologies by presenting at national conferences held by collaborating NCCs in EU. - Promotions of the possibilities and upsides of HPC and associated technologies at the national level by identifying relevant users and matching their needs through webinars, training, dissemination and conferences. Focus was put on direct projects with industry within agriculture, process industry, marine industry, financial and disaster prevention. - Promotions of digitalisation and use of HPC and associated technologies by hosting a conference tailored for industry. Also by attending conferences with respective audience.

The NCCs shall contribute by providing expertise and coordination services. Main activities: • The set-up of a framework to run the NCC, including the implementation of a governance structure • The identification and coordination of necessary services to fulfil the requirements of the stakeholders, also at a European level in collaboration with other NCCs • The identification and coordination of available competences in the respective nation in the area of HPC, HPDA and AI • The set-up of a framework (concepts, mechanisms, gap identification) for training of users in the different technologies and alignment across Europe • The set-up of a framework for interaction and tailored support of the national industry, including SMEs (concepts, mechanisms, gap identification), public sector and academia. • Integration of existing competences, expertise, tools, offers into the service portfolio of the NCC • Awareness raising and outreach on the benefits of HPC to potential user industries, including SMEs.
