Scandinavian Conference in Information Systems (SCIS) and Information Systems Research Seminar (IRIS) 2021

The SCIS conference and the IRIS seminar are the flagship Information Systems (IS) events of the Scandinavian Association for Information Systems and have international outreach. In 2021, the event has been usefully brought to Norway and will be organized by the Department of Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) on August 9th-11th, 2021. It will run digitally to accommodate for the uncertainties caused by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The event theme is “Living in a Digital World?”. Papers and presentations will have a sociotechnical focus on digital transformation and address its organizational and societal consequences. The general chair is Associate Professor Elena Parmiggiani, NTNU. Program chairs are Professor Eric Monteiro, NTNU, and Associate Professor Miria Grisot, University of Oslo. The SCIS paper chairs are Associate Professor Patrick Mikalef, NTNU, and Researcher Alexander Moltubakk Kempton, University of Oslo. The IRIS chair is Associate professor Babak Farshchian, NTNU. SCIS is a competitive venue for publishing and presenting high quality scientific papers. Acceptance rate will be about 30% in line with the previous editions. The IRIS seminar is oriented toward peer-to-peer feedback and group discussions. In each group, junior and senior researchers can present their accepted manuscripts and receive feedback by the group participants. SCIS/IRIS invites international renowned scholars as keynotes in 2021: 1. Professor Marleen Huysman, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam 2. Professor Virpi Kristina Tuunainen, Aalto University Helsinki One panel is organized organized with two leading Norwegian IS researchers and two managers from the public and private sector. This project is planned to provide support to (1) fund the online platform used to organize the event (OnAir), (2) fund the required technical support, and (3) contribute keeping registration fees low, which is the standard for online conferences.
