Ship cleaning services have become an important market with a strong growth impulse created by the ban of heavy metals based antifouling chemicals in 2013. Nevertheless, until recently, there has been no significant market demand for innovations towards an eco-friendly solution.
The overall vision of the ECOstation Accelerator project is to prototype, pilot and commercialise our remote biofoul cleaning station. Our remote operated vehicle cleaning technology, and 3D surface hull condition mapping services, do not require any adaptation of the ship’s normal port activities as they can be carried out in parallel to normal loading and unloading of cargo or passengers. Thanks to our patented technology, we are the only company globally able to operate in ports such as Rotterdam with very strict environmental protection rules. This ability combined with our patented SOFTJET cleaning technology, breakthrough solution for leaving the ship coating in perfect condition, makes our innovation a market disrupting solution for the maritime industry.
The aim of the envisaged project is to move our current prototype technology to TRL8, preparing it for commercialisation onto the global markets. The ECOstation technology has a major market potential compared to current state-of-the-art technologies. To increase our commercial success and impact, we have created a Strategic Business Plan, as a detailed roadmap, describing all necessary activities we need to undertake to ensure a successful market introduction. Now, we seek to develop our Commercialisation Plan (CP), which will form an important part of the final Business Innovation Plan (BIP), to be created in this Accelerator project. As the envisaged Accelerator project builds upon a validated prototype technology, the majority of our efforts will be focused on piloting and commercialisation activities.
