The overall vision of the TitanA Accelerator project is to prototype, pilot and commercialise our novel, next-generation battery anode material, made of nano-titanium dioxide (TiO2). TitanA is titania-based material (powder) for the fabrication of anodes in Li-ion batteries. TitanA is composed of nanostructured porous particles at ideal nanometric size bellow 10 nm with optimal TiO2 anatase architecture for battery use. Nanostructuring of TiO2 speeds up the ionic conductivity during the operation and charging while optimised slurry formulations make it easy to integrate the material into existing battery cell production lines. Our solution lies also in our patented production process that is capable of producing TitanA at volumes matching industrial needs (>100t/y). TioTech holds patents protecting the production process of TiO2 anode material. A new patent application covering the TitanA anode material is planned for Q3 2021. Our TitanA material has a major market potential compared to current state-of-the-art technologies. To increase our commercial success and impact, we have created a Strategic Business Plan, as a detailed roadmap, describing all necessary activities we need to undertake to ensure a successful market introduction. Now, we seek to develop our Commercialisation Plan (CP), which will form an important part of the final Business Innovation Plan (BIP), to be created in this Accelerator project. As the envisaged Accelerator project builds upon a validated prototype technology, most of our efforts will be focused on piloting and commercialisation activities.
