The National Norwegian Environmental Chemistry Symposium (NECS) is an annual scientific conference organized by the Norwegian Chemical Society, Division for Analytical Chemistry (NKS-FAK). The 2022 conference will be hosted in Geilo(VEstlia resort) by the Norwegian Chemical Society (NKS) chaired by Yngvar Thomasen (STAMI) and Roland Kallenborn (NMBU/KBM). The planned conference series is continuing the long-lasting Norwegian traditions on the Norwegian winter meetings in Environmental chemistry and intent to serve as a unique national meeting place addressing leading experts, authorities, regulators, and scientists associated with all aspects of Chemistry applied within environmental sciences, monitoring and regulations. Authorities, scientific institutions, contract laboratories, and other commercial partners will exhibit their products and present their services in the frame of NECs. The conference will provide an exciting program of plenary lectures on emerging issues, oral presentations in both general and special sessions as well as poster presentations. Examples of special topics are: Arctic pollution; Green chemistry; Academic education in environmental chemistry; Pollutant remediation strategies; Regulation and restriction of chemical usage; Pollution in air, soil, water, sediments, and food, including nanoparticles and radioactive substances; Risk assessments and uncertainties; New methods for evaluation of mixture toxicity; Non-target analytical approaches and many more.
