International Coordination Against Antimicrobial Resistance (ICAAR)

Alternativ tittel: Enhetlig helse mot antibiotikaresistens

Tildelt: kr 0,13 mill.

Without doubt, the rise of anti-microbial resistance is one of the greater challenges for the future of human and animal health. To overcome the threat of a post-antibiotic era a universal approach is needed and must operate at multiple levels between scientific, governmental and private initiatives. International Consortium Against Antimicrobial Resistance (ICAAR) is a small project but aim to be a significant part of the global initiative to solve the problem of AMR. We will gathered microbiologists, pharmacists, bioinformatitions and veterinarians from the academic and public sector to set up a larger consortium of experts that together will define and develop a common goal in the combat against AMR. Here international partners from the US and India have been identified and is expected to make an significant contribution. The goal is within the next four months to invite and organize two work-shops that will be devoted the design a coherent and common project. We will identify what competences that are lacking in the project group to achieve our goal and use our common network to mend these competences such as partners from the private and commercial sector. For the best outcome of the pre-project a project organizer will be hired to oversee that all aims of the pre-project is performed and that written proposal for the main call is met in February 2022.
