GLAcier front Mapping with automotive lidar, RiS ID 11860

Tildelt: kr 64 999

The goal of the GLAM project is to provide a proof of concept that automotive lidar sensors may be used for mapping of glacier fronts, e.g. at Tunabreen, Mohnbukta, or Nordenskiöldbreen. For that purpose, our developed sensorbox including an automotive lidar sensor, a DGPS and an IMU will be mounted on a snowmobile. If the proof of concept is successful, the setup could be used to monitor the change of glacier fronts over several years in the future and to improve calving models of glaciers.
