European Conference on Information Retrieval

Tildelt: kr 99 999

The European Conference on Information Retrieval (ECIR) is the premier European forum for the presentation of new research results in the broadly conceived area of Information Retrieval. ECIR features full-paper and poster presentations, system demonstrations, tutorials, workshops, an industry-oriented event, and traditionally has a strong focus on the active participation of early-career researchers. The main scientific program consists of a series of themed sessions across three days. The main scientific program will consist of full papers, short papers, reproducibility papers and demos. Before the main conference, we will have an optional day dedicated to workshops and tutorials. Following the tradition, we will also have an industry day, which would be happening parallel to the doctoral consortium. The conference will also feature three keynote speakers with one of them being a BCS-IRSG Karen Spärck Jones Award recipient of 2021. IR technology represents one of the most prominent and successful application areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI). It powers a wide spectrum of search and recommender systems, ranging from Web search (Google) to e-commerce (Amazon) to recommendations (Netflix) to personal digital assistants (SIRI, Alexa or the Google Assistant). ECIR caters for multiple audiences: academic and industrial researchers, students, as well as industry practitioners. Previous editions of the conference have attracted around 300 participants as well as major companies, such as Amazon, Bloomberg, eBay, and Google, as sponsors.
