The suggested conference will serve as a dedicated international meeting place for researchers interested in crowdfunding. Here, despite immense growth of interest in the field and publication volumes in recent years, crowdfunding-dedicated conferences have been rare outside practitioner circles. Hence, we will create a new dedicated forum for crowdfunding researchers across disciplines linking information systems, economics, finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, psychology and sociology researchers under one roof to exchange ideas and help develop the field both theoretically and practically.
Furthermore, the conference will invite industry representatives and public policymakers to participate in panel discussions with researchers. Such discussions may facilitate better dialogue between these actors and allow to address the most urgent issues on each stakeholder's agenda in a complementary way.
The conference is expected to include research presentations on themes including the following: (1) crowdfunding adoption by fundraisers – drivers and barriers; (2) crowdfunding platform design and development; (3) artificial intelligence applications in crowdfunding; (5) drivers and barriers to contribution behaviour; (6) predictors of crowdfunding campaign success; (7) gender aspects in crowdfunding behaviour; (8) civic crowdfunding and public institution use of crowdfunding; (9) crowdfunding sustainability; (10) crowdfunding energy, renewable energy, and climate mitigation; (11) ethical issues in crowdfunding practice; (12) crowdfunding regulations and their implications for practice; and (13) collaboration and cooperation between traditional financial institutions and crowdfunding platforms.
The event will be organized as a two-day conference scheduled for 30.11-01.12.2022. Each day will follow a schedule of 3 sessions for paper presentations (5 papers in each) + 1 invited key note speech + 1 stakeholder panel discussion + Lunch + 3 coffee breaks .
