Intent-Centric Cognitive Cloud for Sustainable Elasticity -- Shift cloud management from resource-oriented to business-oriented

INCA will investigate and demonstrate a new concept of intent-centric cognitive cloud (computing continuum), to advance the state-of-the-art of cloud self-management through: (1) The introduction of AI techniques, which, instead of following predefined rules and policies, manage the resources based on the self-built knowledge that is learned from historical data and from active exploration of the target cloud systems based on the digital twins of the cloud infrastructure. (2) Novel intent-centric human-AI interaction, which assists stakeholders in examining and describing how they intend their application to perform in the cloud, ensures cloud management complies with the stakeholder's intents, and allows the stakeholders to understand the intents behind the AI decisions. INCAs vision is that all stakeholders will have their virtual "cloud management consultants" that can understand what they want and manage the cloud resources for them accordingly. This will lead us to the true cognitive clouds, which build their own knowledge for management, and collaborate with stakeholders based on "shared intents".
