NTNU Ocean Week 2022

Tildelt: kr 99 999

At Ocean Week 2022, for the first time we expand our reach to all three campus cities of NTNU: Trondheim, Ålesund and Gjøvik. In Ålesund on day 1, we zoom in on two of the outcomes of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and ask: “A healthy and productive ocean by 2030 – can we reach the goals?” We focus on four sub-topics: Ocean literacy and the arts, ocean and climate change, technology for sustainable coastal communities, and circular solutions for marine debris. In Trondheim on day 2, we focus on the need to boost our blue knowledge to secure a sustainable blue economy. We focus on three sub-topics: Ocean industries for the future, ocean autonomy, and NTNU's involvement in the Arctic. We also have a side-event on artistic research for the ocean. In Gjøvik on day 3, we focus on inland water challenges and launch “Mission Mjøsa” – an ambitious initiative to map the largest lake in Norway. Ocean Week will engage participants with presentations and discussions that aim to inform and to inspire. We invite researchers, policymakers, industry actors and engaged citizens to take part in shaping ‘the science we need for the Ocean we want.’
