European International Business Academy 2022 Annual Conference in Oslo December 8-11, 2022

Tildelt: kr 0,10 mill.

EIBA was founded in 1974 under the auspices of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and in close cooperation with the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM). EIBA is a professional society for academics and practitioners with an interest in the multidisciplinary and ever-evolving field of international business. The society is distinct from many other associations in that its members come from a wide variety of scholarly and functional backgrounds yet share the common purpose of using an international context to cross the intellectual boundaries that often divide institutions of higher education. EIBA aims to serve as a core community and communication network for disseminating information and promoting worldwide exchanges in the field of international business. Membership is open to individuals from Europe and elsewhere. At present, EIBA has about 500 members from over 50 countries worldwide, representing all continents. The membership is renewed at the annual conference. Hence, the membership also reflects the number of expected participants at the annual conference. The annual conference is hosted in a different country every year. The local host institution must submit a formal proposal that is assessed by the EIBA board. BI Norwegian Business School was selected as the host for the 2022 Annual Conference, in competition with multiple other proposals. The conference is co-organized with the University of Agder, and we have also invited academics from other Norwegian institutions such as NTNU, NHH, and University of Tromsø to serve as track chairs for the conference. We wish to develop a stronger national community of researchers and practitioners who wish to contribute to innovative research to support the internationalization of Norwegian firms. Hosting the conference in Oslo will create an accessible arena for PhD students and young faculty members to engage with this professional society.
