The International Society of Multiphysics has been promoting Multiphysics mainly through two dissemination activities: (i) organisation of the international conference, and (ii) publishing of The International Journal of Multiphysics (ISSN: 1750-9548). MULTIPHYSICS 2022 is in line with the first activity which will enable those interested in Multiphysics to meet, discuss, and disseminate the most up-to-date research findings for purposes of product and process improvements. This will encompass maximisation of Multiphysics dialogue across international borders at all levels, initiating collaboration between researchers, institutions, industry and governments, and development of curricula for the higher education sectors worldwide. The conference is to be held at OsloMet organised by the Vice Chair Prof. Arash Soleiman Fallah in collaboration with his colleague from UiT, Dr. Hassan A. Khawaja, who acts as the Coordinator. The course offered at UiT ‘The Arctic University of Norway’ (TEK-8015/TEK-3604 Multiphysics Simulation) on multiphysics modelling techniques for structural mechanics and fluid mechanics/heat transfer is closely related to the activities in the conference. Students in that course learn about governing equations, discretization techniques, initial & boundary conditions, and solving techniques. They will also learn ANSYS® Multiphysics and MATLAB® software. A second course is being designed as a part of the MSc program to be offered at OSLOMET from 2024 onwards (Fluid-Structure Interaction). The target groups for this annual event are wide working in scientific disciplines as structural analysis, thermofluid dynamics, electrical interactions, magnetic-elastic interactions, shock waves, and acoustics. Since the Multiphysics conference is held directly at OSLOMET, local students and teaching personnel attending the conference, will gain an outstanding opportunity to network and engage in scientific discussion beyond the confines of their study program.
