24th International Workshop on Radiation Imaging Detectors at Oslo Science Park, 2023 (IWORID2023)

Tildelt: kr 99 999

The International Workshop on Radiation Imaging Detectors is an annual conference that provides an international forum for discussing current research and developments of position sensitive detectors for radiation imaging. The workshop started in Sundsvall in 1999 as a continuation of the series of workshops on GaAs Detectors and Related Compounds. Later, the workshop has evolved into a large, international event with an average of 200 participants, to address the growing complexity and popularity of hybrid, pixelated imaging system, and radiation imaging. The next workshop in 2023 will be its 24th edition. The goal of the workshop is to bring together up to 300 international experts to address the shortcomings of current state-of-the-art, bringing innovative solutions in radiation imaging and detectors as well as finding novel applications. Today, radiation imaging is a field that requires expertise that spans from radiation sensor technology, detector materials, electronic packaging, data acquisition systems, and software algorithm. SINTEF MiNaLab has the honour to host this prestigious event together with a Norwegian company, IDEAS, and the Department of Physics at the University of Oslo. The hosting location is usually chosen due to renowned expertise the field. In this case, it is the renowned expertise of silicon radiation detectors at SINTEF, readout electronics at IDEAS and High Energy Physics at UiO. The venue will be held at Oslo Science Park between the 25th and 29th June in 2023. It will be a 4-day event of scientific sessions with both invited and contributed talks. All presentations will be invited to submit a paper in the Journal of Science, a peer review journal. There will also be 3 social events with ample time for discussions and networking. Participation and sponsorship from industrial companies will have opportunity to showcase their latest technology.
