Photonics is one of the six key enabling technologies to increase industrial innovation to address societal challenges and creating advanced and sustainable economies. Photonics is a multidisciplinary domain dealing with light, encompassing its generation, detection, and management. Photonics devices are taking grounds in devices for their novel performances, small sizes, and simpler operation. Photonics devices can detect target substances by observing changes in interacting light characteristics.
In this project, we will develop a novel sensor system that combines an innovative photonic sensor, novel materials, and advanced microelectronics through a chiplet approach. A new light source will also be developed. It is expected that the new sensor system will have excellent performance regarding sensitivity as well as low energy consumption and cost.
