ENRICH is an Indo-Norwegian transdisciplinary project (research and communication partners) that aims to engage researchers and the coastal population to effectively communicate and disseminate research-based knowledge on climate related changes in the ocean and its implications on human health vulnerability. ENRICH is proposed to be conducted in the state of Kerala, the most densely populated coastal zone in South India, (total length- 593 km; population - 36 million). ENRICH will focus specifically on 5 coastal districts (Kannur, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Thiruvananthapuram). ENRICH will address the vulnerable coastal population and invest in the next generation (school children, school and college lecturers, undergraduate and postgraduate students). To address the objectives, ENRICH will use methodologies/digital tools such as conducting surveys, data collection and analysis, imparting awareness and capacity building of targeted population towards the development of a sustainable citizen science program, dissemination of knowledge and scientific information to local communities and stakeholders using digital tools like web/mobile applications, to improve Community Engagement. ENRICH will invest in the next generation via providing educational activities for school children, specific courses for school teachers, and training courses for college lecturers, undergraduate and graduate students.
