“Can forests save our planet? 3 Ts enabling net-zero, tomorrow” is a high-impact carbon negative international event scheduled for October 2025 in Oslo. Organized by Trefadder AS, ForestWatch AS, and the Italian Embassy in Oslo, the event aims to explore how forests can serve as scalable, affordable carbon sinks to combat climate change. It will bring together innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders to showcase nature-based and tech-driven climate solutions, particularly in forestry, afforestation, and reforestation.
The event centers on the "3 Ts"—Transparency, Traceability, and Transmissibility—as critical enablers for trustworthy, effective voluntary carbon markets (VCMs). It will highlight cutting-edge tools like AI, machine learning, satellite technology, and tamper-proof carbon registries. By addressing greenwashing and enhancing market credibility, the event supports global sustainability goals and the Kunming-Montreal agreements.
Key objectives include fostering cross-border collaboration, promoting advanced forest monitoring, and scaling innovative climate solutions. Featuring speakers from Norway, Italy, and Sweden, it targets 60–90 guests and is committed to being carbon-negative by offsetting 1 ton of CO2 per attendee.
Support from the Research Council is vital to amplify outreach, ensure stakeholder engagement, and showcase Norway’s leadership in environmental innovation.
