Location:

The applicant, Bjarne Bogen, had a 6 months sabbatical stay at Dana Farber Cancer Institute/ Harvard Medical school Sept 1st 2004 to March 1st 2005. During this period he established a number of bilateral collaborations with the following laboratories: 1) Klaus Rajewsky (Center for Blood Research, Pathology, Harvard Medical School). Topic: To generate a new VH knock in mouse that will be used in studies on autoimmunity and B cell lymphoma development. See enclosed letter from Klaus Rajewsky. Postdoc K. Sh chjetne has made the construct in Oslo and visited Rajewsky lab for 6 weeks in July/August 2005 to learn the ES cell technology. 2) Margaret Shipp (Dana Farber Cancer Institute) and Jeff Kutok (Brigham and Women?s Hospital). Topic: Lymphomagenesis: To stu dy how B cells chronically stimulated by T cells develop into B lymphomas. See enclosed letters of Drs. Shipp and Kutok. Lymphoma biopsies have in June 2005 been sent to Dr. Shipp for gene expression analysis. 3) Dan Barouch (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center). Topics: (i) To study how cytokine/chemokines contribute to responses to Vaccibodies delivered as DNA intra muscularly. (ii) To establish Vaccibodies with gp120 from HIV virus. See enclosed letter of Dr. Barouch. Constructs have been made by Agne te Brunsvik in BB lab and have been shipped to Dan Barouch. 4) Harald von Boehmer (Dana Farber Cancer Institute). Topic: Use of Troybodies with hemagglutinin epitopes, and T cell receptor transgenic mice specific for hemagglutinin, to decipher regulation of T cell responses against influenza virus. See enclosed letter of Dr. Harald von Boehmer.Troybodies with hemagglutinin epitopes have been made by Karoline Schjetne and were in October 2005 shipped to Harald von Boehmer. A joint NIH application will be submitted in February 2006. The indicated BB labmembers (above) will visit the respective labs in 2006. Applications for funding have and will be submitted NFR, The norwegian Cancer Society and NIH.
