Canada - COOPERATION NORWAY-CANADA - AIMING AT A JOINT RESEARCH PROPOSAL IN THE FIELD OF BEHAVIORAL ECOLOGY/LIFE HISTORY STRATEGY

Awarded: NOK 90,000

Robert B. Weladji, Geir Steinhem and Oystein Holand have been working as a team at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences since 1999, where both Robert and Geir obtained their PhD and did their post doc, Robert on reindeer and Geir on domestic sheep. R obert joined a new position in April 2005 as a research associate at Laval University (Canada) at Steeve Côté?s lab. Both labs are working on similar issues but with different species (reindeer and sheep in Norway and Finland, and mountain goat, caribou a nd white-tailed deer in Canada), so it called our attention on the possibilities of collaborative work. We want to initiate bilateral research cooperation between our labs (Universities) aiming at producing a joint research proposal in the field of behavi oral ecology and life history strategies during 2006/2007.
