Nordan 2007 (11th Nordic Complex Analysis conference)

Awarded: NOK 84,999

Project Manager:

Project Number:

177533

Project Period:

2007 - 2008

Location:

The conference is openly announced and open for anyone who wants to participate. In practice, a large percentage of the participants will be people who have attended some of the previous conferences and are on the NORDAN mailing list. We expect a total of 50 participants. The scientific activity will consist of around 10 invited talks and more informal discussions between groups of participants. It is a NORDAN tradition that there are many and long breaks, to enable scientific interaction outside the lec ture halls. The conference will take place in May, some weekend from Friday to Sunday lunch, and will follow the standard NORDAN setup. This means that we invite 10 speakers, for whom we pay all expenses, travel and accomodation. The remaining particip ants will cover their own expenses, although the arranger often provides some extra treatment. Usually the researchers get their expenses covered by their own institutions. But the arranger also tries to cover some of the expenses for participants who are not completely covered in this way, like graduate students and occasionally foreign guest researchers at Nordic universities. There is no conference fee. The 2007 conference will be in honour of Nils Øvrelid, who is a member of our group in Oslo and wil l be retiring sometime during the next two years. This will to some degree affect the program, which will be somewhat more oriented toward the d-bar equation than previous conferences. This being the most fundamental tool in multidimensional complex analy sis, we think this will only increase the international interest in the conference.
