Cooperative institutions seek to establish together a cooperative research program related to the field of Space Information Management. The attention to the High North challenges provided opportunity to extend 15 years of successful cooperation to this n ew research field which will combine strength of BSTU in space technology and Bodø in information management and business administration. The active cooperation between Norway and Russia in the High North for the purpose of sustainable management of natur al resources will require timely and relevant information. Access to and more active supply of information through use of space technology seem to be one factor of great potential for realizing cooperative potentials related to resources in the High North . The program aims at strengthening cooperation between Norwegian and Russian researchers, and providing research output devoted to exploring opportunities and challenges for cooperation between Norway and Russia in the field of resource management based on the information obtained through use of space technology. On a wider scale, the program will contribute to generating knowledge applicable in relation to research agendas addressed by the international community. In this application we apply for NOK 15 0.000,- for 2007 in order to establish a cooperative research program in Space Information Management. Applied resources will cover project establishment costs related to development of applications and networking.
