Young is an international journal of youth research, which addresses a broad scope of issues in the life situation of youth in the age of globalization - questions that are related i.e. to increased mobility of people and commodities, (youth) cultural cha nges, young people's identities, their position in diverse contexts in society, family relations, interaction between generations - in urban and rural context. The journal has an interdisciplinary profile which means that we welcome both articles that int egrate perspectives of different disciplines and articles that are framed within a single discipline or research tradition. In all cases we emphasize that articles should be understandable to youth researchers across this interdisciplinary field; they sho uld relate to broader question of youth research and youth life and facilitate dialogue between traditions (see also http://you.sagepub.com). YOUNG is a forum for discussion of empirical results as well as issues of theory and me thod. It is aimed at researchers, students and all who are interested in topics relating to youth. YOUNG is rooted in a Nordic tradition of interdisciplinarity, but welcomes articles from outside Scandinavia and Europe that contribute to a strengthening o f global aspects of current youth research. YOUNG is financially supported by the Nordic Council and has been in publication since 1993.
