American Studies in Scandinavia is a biannual journal for the publication of scholarly texts in American Studies. Thus it encourages and contributes to the development of the multidisciplinary field of academic American Studies. Each issue contains 4-5 te xts of up to 40 pages and a review section, in total about 150 pages, or about 300 pages year. The function as editor rotates between the Nordic countries, for this period Sweden. NNAS, The Nordic Association for American Studies, is related to the journa l, and a copy of each issue of the journal is a benefit for the NAAS member. One of the two issues each year has a general content, and the other is a special topic with a thematic section of texts, such as "American Spaces", "Latino/a Studies", "Nordic S paces in North America". For quality assurance the journal adheres to a strict double-blind peer-review process. Thus work for each issue is the reading of text proposals to decide whether they are up to peer review, the management of the peer review, the communication with text contributors, editorial work, and finally proof-reading, before each issue is printed. The journal thus offers an opportunity for up to ten contributors to be published each year.
