NOP American Studies in Scandinavia

American Studies in Scandinavia is a biannual journal for the publication of scholarly texts in American Studies. Thus it encourages and contributes to the development of the multidisciplinary field of academic American Studies. Each issue contains 5-6 te xts of up to 40 pages each and a reviews section, in total about 150 pages, or about 300 pages per year. The function as editor rotates between the Nordic countries; for this period it is Sweden. NAAS, The Nordic Association for American Studies, is relat ed to the journal, and a copy of each issue of the journal is a benefit for the NAAS members. One of the two issues each year has a general content, and the other is a special topic with a thematic section of texts, such as "American Spaces", "Latino/a St udies", "Nordic Spaces in North America," "Conservatism in the U.S." For quality assurance the journal adheres to a strict double-blind peer-review process. Thus preparatory and editorial work for each issue is the reading of text proposals to decide whet her they are up to peer review, the management of the peer review, the communication with text contributors, editorial work, and final proof-reading, before each issue is printed. The journal thus offers an opportunity for up to ten text contributors or m ore to be published each year.
