Exchange semester at Ludvig-Maximilians Universität München, to deepen my understanding on International Political Economy

Awarded: NOK 35,000

The last few years Europe has been shaken. The ongoing Eurozone crisis affects not only the entire European Union, but also the world as a whole. A recurring question among both political scientists and economists is how the EU will recover from these ext remely challenging times. Will it come out strengthened, or will it slowly collapse? At the core of it all and absolutely crucial for the fate of the union, stands Germany. The E.ON Ruhrgas Personal Mobility Grant would give me an unique opportunity to f ollow not only the recovery of the EU, but also the decision-making behind the union's economic policies in general. My wish for an exchange semester at the excellent Ludvig-Maximilians Universität München (LMU) is thus based on three fields of interest; academics, language and culture. The grant and exchange semester will increase my understanding of German, and thus European, Political Economy. Combined with my current knowledge on political science, I hope to be able to contribute, ever so little, to a more stable and foreseeable Europe in the future. (See also Motivational Letter)
