Satellittmåling av regnskog

Reducing deforestation of rainforests is seen as the most cost effective method to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In this Application, we present the solution that will contribute to the deforestation in the world to be significantly reduced. Nibio in Ås has developed a new measurement method which uses satellite images. The method is substantially more accurate and efficient than current methods. The main objective of the project is to develop a product for measuring forests, which will ensure that the substantial potential of REDD+ is realized, and thus a significant reduction in deforestation. Product and market shall be verified in this project, in collaboration with Airbus, the UN, the German Space Center and a National Carbon Monitoring Centre.
