The alarming occurence of pathogenic bacteria in food production is a major problem worldwide, and can have long-term consequences for both the industry and consumers. Consumers' confidence in the production chain is essential for food companies. Upon infection outbreaks the direct losses and the negative effects will be experienced at all levels. How can we move an important step closer to food safety ? The verification project is based on Nofima's leading expertise in biological and bacteriological aspects of food production. In collaboration with partners in the production chain,the goal of the project is to achieve significant and satisfactory bacterial reduction, with quality documentation of positive effects.
