FORNY2020 FunzioNano AS

The project aims to verify the industrial and commercial basis for products based on SINTEF's patented FunzioNano technology and operationalizing of a company if the results of the verification are positive. The company will develop, manufacture and sell FunzioNano hybrid polymers (FN) to material manufacturers in the international market. Own production and sales facilities will be established in Norway . FN's usefulness is verified for a variety of industrial applications. Further possible industrial applications are identified in cooperation with industrial companies. Realising these opportunities requires the establishment of industrial production that provide FN in the required amount, with stable quality and proven effect at a competitive price. The technical part of the project includes the optimization of two types FN, up-scale of established manufacturing processes, optimization of production facilities, documentation of product quality, as well as verification of the technology's usefulness for new applications. The commercial section will include verification of the identified market potential for the various areas of application (volume and price) and estimated production costs. The company is being established by SINTEF TTO AS to ensure a legal platform for partnerships and customer relations. Provided that verification results are positive, the company will be capitalized and operationalized with the goal to startup production in an own plant in Norway in 2018.
