The European meeting of the Economic Science Association (ESA) has established itself as the main conference in Europe on the use of experimental methods in the field of behavioral and development economics. The conference takes place in different European cities every year, at the latest in Heidelberg, Germany in 2015. This year, in 2016, The Choice Lab has been given the great honor of organizing the conference at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen, Norway. The conference covers a number of topics that are of great importance for behavioral finance and we expect to have a number of parallel sessions on what shapes investment decisions and market outcomes. We expect around 270 participants and presentations of around 250 papers. At the present date, Muriel Niederle from Stanford University and Matthew Rabin from Harvard University have confirmed as keynote speakers. Orazio Attanasio, University College London, confirmed preliminarily. All three are leading researchers in the field of experimental and behavioral economics. The academic committee consists of Bertil Tungodden, Ingvild Almås, Kjetil Bjorvatn, Alexander W. Cappelen, Trond Døskeland, Lars Jacob Tynes Pedersen and Erik Ø. Sørensen (all professors at NHH). The conference will be a unique opportunity to highlight The Choice Lab and NHH as an important hub in Europe for experimental and behavioral economics. It will also provide an excellent chance for researchers to foster new networks and research collaborations in Europe. The participants will cover their own accommodation and travel costs. During the conference lunches, coffee breaks, a welcome reception and a conference dinner will be provided. The conference venue will be NHH. We will apply for funding from NHH, Centre for Applied Research (SNF), Bergen Kommune,The National Research School in Business Economics and Administration(NFB) and European Economic Review (EER).
