Hold: Norden for våre føtter

Staying focused in while in school have become harder, as the usage of phone have increased and the related notifications from apps such as Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have exploded. As many as 8 out of 10 students recognize the issue around checking the phone far to often in school. Research shows that you increase the absorption of information with up to 62%, and that the academic performance increases with 30% by putting your phone away. This confirms our hypothesis that the phone is a significant distractor in the academic life. This is the problem we solve with «Hold» . The application rewards students for not using the phone while in school. For every 20.minute the student is inactive, he or she receives 1 point. These points could then be exchanges in rewards from the partner businesses in the Hold marketplace. 3 months after launch, Hold is now available at 31 institutions. The main objective of this project is to improve the product, attracting new users and partners, as well as creating an scalable model for the Nordic market. Danmark is our first stop. By using our knowledge from our current makret, as well as local knowledge we hope to fullfil this goal and be able to expand easily to Sweden and Finland. If all activities and goals are fullfilled during the project, we will have more than 150.000 Hold-users.
